Published newsroom questions have shared, server-stored vote totals. There are no prefilled sample questions or participation counts. Voluntary participation is not a representative opinion survey.
Is my name shown?
No name is displayed with your choice. Personal drafts stay in your browser. Article polls store votes on the server using a hashed browser identifier. Neither verifies unique people or provides cryptographic anonymity.
Can I verify my vote?
Today, you can revisit your locally saved vote in My activity. Blockchain verification is planned.
Planned record verification
The proposed design uses Base, a Solidity contract and Merkle proofs. A private receipt would let you check that your participation was included in a recorded batch.
Public records would contain batch commitments, not names or raw votes. This detects changes to committed records but does not independently prove unique participants, complete inclusion or a correct initial tally.
Base Sepolia testing is planned first. Article polls use a shared database, but no votes are currently recorded on a blockchain.
